In accordance with the provisions of Articles 200 and 238 bis of the French General Tax Code (Code Général des Impôts - CGI), non-profit associations that pursue exclusively cultural, educational, or philanthropic missions of general interest, without commercial activity or lucrative management, enjoy specific fiscal recognition.
Mémoire et Patrimoine Chaunois strictly complies with the four cumulative criteria established by French tax doctrine:
- Disinterested Management (Gestion désintéressée): The association is administered on a strictly volunteer basis by unpaid directors who hold no direct or indirect financial interest in the organization's activities.
- Absence of Lucrative Activity (Caractère non-lucratif): All initiatives are non-commercial, free to the public, and do not compete with commercial market enterprises in conditions similar to the private sector (rule of the 4 "P": Product, Public, Price, Publicity).
- Broad Public Benefit (Cercle étendu de bénéficiaires): Our activities are not restricted to an exclusive club of members, but benefit the entire population of the Chaunois territory without discrimination.
- Strict Absence of Profit Redistribution: No financial surplus is ever distributed to members or directors; any fiscal reserve is automatically carried forward to fund the subsequent year's public cultural programs.
